The building constructed as the Fine Arts building for the World's Columbian Exposition of 1893, was occupied by the Field Museum (until 1921) and remodeled and opened to the public as the home of the Museum of Science and Industry in 1933 at 5700 South Lake Shore Drive in the Hyde Park community area of Chicago, Illinois.
